Is VIRUS 2018's financing model going to be based on item sales or fees?
Do you have beta testing and release dates for VIRUS 2018 available?
Internal beta testing has begun at the beginning of december, the final release is at the end of january. An exact date is not available yet but a domain is. The good thing about online games is that you are not bound to a specific day but instead, you can release it whenever it is ready.
Apart from the LEGEND and VIRUS 2018 browser games, you currently are working on a MMORPG that is not yet officially announced. What is it going to be called? Will the subject matter be science fiction or fantasy? Will it perhaps be based on a pre-existing franchise? Can you tell us a couple details about the story?
The game will be fantasy-themed. Our goal is to create the first MMORPG that plays and looks as fine as any other game that is getting sold for fifty bucks in stores in addition to monthly fees – ours will be completely free of charge with no price tag and no fees!
What kind of technology are you using for the MMORPG project? Will you control the game from an isometric perspective, through the eyes of the protagonist or over his shoulder?
The game's technical base is the MASTER ENGINE 3, which has been developed from the ground for this game and is based on the experience we have gathered during the development of LEGEND. Developing an engine of our own has proven to be necessary since there's no engine available that fulfills our needs. Even World of Warcraft is using its own proprietary engine.
The distinctive thing about our engine is that is is completely free of additional engines that would have to be added, like PhysX, for example. But apart from that the MASTER ENGINE 3 has a lot to offer. You will be surprised how good a Free to Play game can look!
